Acer Predator XB273K Vs ASUS ROG Strix XG27UQ: Which to Buy?

ASUS and Acer both are known as the potential rivals of each other within the tech town. Each one of them tends to innovate a design that is the smartest of all, carrying the modern essence within it.
One of the most acknowledged models from ASUS is the ASUS ROG Strix XG27UQ which is known for its extremely refined picture blending with the smart design. This beast gets challenged by Acer’s very own Acer Predator XB273K which imitates the style of the former with the uniqueness of its own, both in design and function.
The tussle between ASUS or Acer gets hard right when these giants are in front of each other in the tech arena. So, let’s kill the curiosity and start this battle of features distinguishing one from the other.
PROS | PROS |
Smart design. Speakers. Impressive refresh rate. HDR10. Quad-USB ports. | Crystal-clear picture. VESA 100×100. Durable design. Double HDMI. RGB illumination control. |
CONS | CONS |
Lacks multiple displays. Expensive. Insufficient ergonomic adjustments. | No speakers. Expensive. |
DESIGN & CONNECTIVITY
The design of each looks promising, consisting of the plastic body alongside minimum metallic bezels which have gone thinner than ever in both the devices. However, Predator’s stand looks a bit minimal with the resting head coming at the centre of the extensions and holding the entire device right in the middle with the aid of its elongated border.
But, Strix remains successful in seeming to have the centre-right at the corner, as we find one of the extended arms of the stand shorter than the other. Both of them have used blending of black and dark red themes giving the gadgets a royal look.
Other than that VESA 100×100 wall mount is there to support the adjustments. Predator is a bit lighter in weight than the Strix mate marking the difference of 2 points. As Strix comes with 16.5lbs which is negated by the 16.2lbs of the battle mate, Predator.
With predator, your external memory sources are going to find a constant refuge because of its 4 USB ports compared to the 2 ports of Strix. Although, Strix beats the former by having double HDMI ports in its design compared to the single one of Predator. Other than this, both of them are content with double display ports and a single audio jack.
FEATURES
The 27” screen existing in both of the devices is an essential attribute relating to the IPS technology in both which blesses them both with a refreshing rate as huge as 144Hz, so make yourself sure of the fact that you are not going to get disappointed.
The sole reason for this is the presence of a 3840×2160 pixels screen which promises you the 4K Ultra-HD screen. Another feature existing in both of them is the presence of Nvidia’s essential G-Sync feature. This enables you to live within the game you are playing, the entire time.
In competition with the RGB illumination existing in the mighty Strix, comes the illumination technology of Predator. Because of the availability of this feature following the presets type, Strix takes the ultimate lead because here you can control the colour combination according to your own choice.
In addition to this, HDR10 is there to enhance the looks of the scenes throughout gaming. Sadly, you don’t find any PIP or PBP feature in Predator, but this one is a speciality of Strix only but there are stereo speakers special to Predator and absent in Strix.
PRICE DIFFERENCE
There is no clear cut difference between price ranges of both the devices because of the presence of the same number of features.
However, there is one bad news for those who are having some hard time earning and saving money as for them, both will cost as luxurious gadgets because of their premium-priced range.
But, if you are addicted to gaming and can afford any one of both, it is surely going to turn out as a fine purchase for you.
FINAL VERDICT
ASUS ROG Strix XG27UQ is the one you need to go for. Yes, there are several features which are the same in both of them, yet the durability of Strix makes it a fine choice for the buyer because it also introduces several new features including controlling the screen tones and clarity according to your personal choice.
This feature is one hell of a reason to go towards the director where Strix is. However, if you are more into minimal gadgets, Acer Predator XB273K is at your service to serve you by keeping the spirit a bit low.
